OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Invite the animals for a visit!
Wildlife Encounters
OWC brings our live animal ambassadors to schools, civic groups, and organizations seeking to get a little closer to nature. Our one-hour Wildlife Encounters program introduces participants to the diverse species of animals found in Ohio, the rehabilitation services of OWC, and tips on how we can co-exist peacefully with our wild neighbors. Click here for more information.

Trained OWC staff and volunteers will bring resident education animals to your event or program. |
Tailored Presentations
If requested, OWC also offers programs tailored to meet your specific wildlife interests. Some of our more popular programs include Ohio’s Hawks and Owls, Ohio’s Reptiles, and Nocturnal Animals. Just let us know what works best for your group. Click here for more information.
Seasons of Change Loan Kits
Fall, winter, and spring loan kits are available for all teachers, grades K-12, and feature hands-on instructional materials regarding Ohio wildlife, biology, and natural history. This program is specially targeted to assist 2nd grade students in meeting state science curriculum benchmarks. Our loan kits are available for three-week time periods. Call us at 614-734-9453.
Public Displays
Some events lend themselves more easily to a static display, so OWC staff and volunteers will gladly bring live animals, along with our hands-on educational display, to your organization’s event. Click here for more information.
Read- and Walk-A-Thons
Are your students interested in finding ways to support local wildlife while proactively participating in environmental conservation efforts? Then we have what you need! Classes can hold a "wildlife week" kicked-off with a visit by OWC and raise money for Ohio wildlife. At the end of the week, students celebrate their success with a school assembly program featuring our animal ambassadors. Teachers receive complete packets and lesson plans. Call us at 614-734-9453.
