Since its founding in 1984 the Ohio Wildlife Center has:   Treated over 50,000 injured or orphaned wildlife,  Provided educational experiences to 950,000 children and adults,  Responded to over 550,000 wildlife hotline calls. This has all been made possible by the donation of 500,000 hours of dedicated volunteer work.

Membership

The Ohio Wildlife Center is a non-profit educational organization that promotes increased appreciation and understanding of the natural environment, with particular emphasis on wildlife. OWC is supported by individuals from all walks of life who wish to improve their own understanding of native wild species and local wildlife issues.

Goals and Values

  • to generate a naturalistic interest in the local environment, and native Ohio wildlife
  • to provide biologically accurate information about wild animals and their needs
  • to give the best veterinary and humane assistance possible to injured, orphaned, diseased and displaced wild animals
  • to help persons with wildlife problems control wild animals legally, effectively and humanely
  • to provide information to persons who wish to maintain or encourage wildlife species on their private property
  • to encourage pursuit of wildlife interests as a worthwhile recreational and educational activity
  • to develop a community of persons committed to helping wild animals in Ohio.
