Since its founding in 1984 the Ohio Wildlife Center has:   Treated over 50,000 injured or orphaned wildlife,  Provided educational experiences to 950,000 children and adults,  Responded to over 550,000 wildlife hotline calls. This has all been made possible by the donation of 500,000 hours of dedicated volunteer work.


Seaworld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund - $10,000

Benefiting Emergency Response for Local Wildlife

Seaworld and Busch Gardens have granted OWC $10,000 toward OWC's "Emergency Response for Local Wildlife" services. OWC treats approximately 5,000 animals presented to the hospital and advises residents in over 30,000 calls to the Wildlife Hotline every year.

This is the first grant OWC has been provided by an Internationally-recognized wildlife conservation organization.

Ingram White Castle Foundation - $14,600

Benefiting OWC Internship Program

 

The Ingram White Castle Foundation is funding OWC's Internship Program for $14,600.

 

The funds will benefit OWC efforts in marketing, training and stipends for both Animal Rehabilitation Interns and Education Interns.

 

The City of Dublin Hotel - Motel Tax Fund - $28,000

Benefiting OWC's new Nature Center

The City of Dublin granted OWC $28,000 toward OWC's Nature Center renovation project. The renovation includes replacing windows, doors, and constructing spaces for interpretative wildlife displays and exhibits on the first floor of the current Education Administration building. The overall project also includes constructing a new parking area, entrance off Dublin Road , ravine crossing and a new Geo-thermal HVAC system. 

The project has received previous funding from the All Life Foundation and AEP-Ohio. Plans are to commence this project in late summer.

Once complete this overall project will enable OWC's Center be "offically" open to the general public! (hopefully in late 2007)
